Stories where the DWA isn't portrayed as powerful?

Was this canon? The Dock Workers Association seems to have this presence as like another gang, at least in power, in so many stories. I've seen a ton of variations of 'they were hardy and had nothing to lose', and how they 'fought off the merchants and eBen the empire treads carefully.'
So are there any stories with the DWA getting steamrolled or just collapsing?
