They're the butt-monkeys of canon and the easy first target of new Brockton Bay capes everywhere, but sometimes I just get an urge to see them treated well. There are hints in canon that Skidmark is more canny and clever than we normally see; there's very little exploration of the relationship between Skidmark and Squealer; I'm not even sure Mush gets any spoken lines in the original story.
They're not the most popular group of degenerates, lowlifes and outlaws, but are there any fics that explore them in any detail, or have any interesting interpretations?
