[Idea] CYOA - Guardian Angels

Post Body

I've been reading some Worm fanfic and had an idea for a CYOA. I would appreciate some feedback or ideas for what direction to take the story, what complications would happen, that sort of thing.

Power manipulation is seriously broken. I've done some brainstorming and can't come up with a way of not being absurdly powerful after at most three weeks. But I am a munchkin, and the idea appeals to me. So, to make it a little bit more fun I thought I'd take a bunch of complications.

Based off the Revised 3rd edition CYOA rules here:

Difficulty: God Mode (10pts) (only way to get the World Breaker power I really wanted)

Powers: Power Manipulator (-8)

Advantages: Special Snowflake (-1)

Disadvantages:

Reincarnation ( 2) Someone random

Wanted ( 8) S9, PRT/Protectorate, Cauldron, Endbringers

Wildbow, What's a Wildbow? ( 2) no SI knowledge for me!

Without a Map ( 2) starting out during a Simurgh attack, hooray

Total: 15 points remaining, bringing it worse than Skitter Mode (0 points).

Carlos has just graduated high school, has no plans for secondary education, is already working at his father's body shop and doesn't have much hope of doing anything else with his life. He has a large, tight-knit family, with all the complications that entails. He's trying to keep his youngest cousins away from drugs and gangs, his mom is in a wheelchair and can't work, his brother has fetal alcohol syndrome and suffers from depressive and psychotic episodes, and he does everything he can to help keep the family housed, fed and clothed.

And then the Simurgh hits his hometown of San Antonio, and everything gets even worse.

He has to survive the attack, keep his family safe, deal with a city that's quarantined and going insane, and somehow get his family out and in one piece. Fortunately, he turns his power charges to create something like a guardian angel - or, in canon terms, the same sort of power set as the Siberian: an indestructible projection, with the ability to extend an invulnerability effect to people and things around itself.

Problem is, in three weeks with focused use of his power charges he's got a world-spanning range, thousands of invisible, intangible projections that he can observe and multitask with, that can affect him, that heal, that reverse the Simurgh's programming, that have a danger sense, that can counter Thinker/Master powers, that are immune to precog, that can teleport others... The more charges he pushes into the Siberian power, the more ridiculous the results end up, and they only get stronger with time.

I think in this case it'll be less a story about him, and more a story about everyone else. How do people react when reports of "guardian angels" are spreading from the Simurgh quarantine zone? Invisible, undetectable angels that can turn a normal person into an equal of the Slaughterhouse 9? Angels that can turn the tides against Endbringers? What do they do when people outside the zone are revealed to have their own guardian angels? What do they do when they hear a whispered voice that offers them an angel of their own?

I'd love feedback and ideas to take this story further.
