I've been learning Spanish pretty consistently on my own and with friends from Spanish speaking countries since January of this year and it's just lit such a passion in me to continue learning until I reach fluency and maintain it for life.
Though I have learned and improved my Spanish a lot over the past half year, I feel like I need some intense sort of program where I am forced to use Spanish every day for everything. I had considered immersion programs, both in my country and abroad, but it's hard to tell if it would really be worth it.
I have also done woofing and americorps so I am no stranger to volunteering and getting my hands dirty, camping, etc. I thought doing worldpackers in a Spanish speaking country would be perfect for me. I've also considered doing a TEFL training and getting a certification to teach English abroad, as I already am in an online community where I help Spanish speakers learn English as they help me learn Spanish.
I was also thinking I could then use that certification to teach English online as I'm doing worldpackers, so I can make a bit of income during my travels.
I'd like to know if anyone can relate, has worked online while doing worldpackers successfully, or has advanced a lot in a language through worldpackers. I'd live to hear everyone's experiences! Also does this sound like a good plan for someone like me trying to learn a language and also have some sort of income? Open to suggestions. Thanks in advance
TLDR: have you been able to advance really quickly in a language through worldpackers and or been able to work remotely while volunteering through world packers
