Considering one influenced the other,
Played through the Revised Core Box of Arkham Horror LCG with two other mates and had a pretty great time. Mechanics are very similar, you have your Reason and Stamina, only 4 Stats though (Willpower, Dexterity, Strength, Knowledge ~ No Perception or Luck)
One thing I feel the LCG does better than World of Horror does is the fact that each scenario is directly connected and there are recognizable long term consequences there that shows up in later scenarios (IE; Burn down your house? It's not in the next Scenario, fail to kill the boss and just ran away? It's included in the Random Encounter deck for the following scenarios). Not that WoH doesn't have it, but it's definitely less obvious and not too on the nose (SPOILERS~ IE; Getting the key from the Vent Crawler to unlock the locker in the School, Getting the fireaxe from the Janitor Scenario to cutdown the vines in the Botanist Scenario, Burning the School) granted that's more of a carry over from Arkham Horror 3rd Edition Board Game and is something that the LCG was made to specifically improve upon.
