I feel fairly stupid, after I was nearly done writing this I remembered warships.today which is basically exactly what I wanted.
Although I do think it would be useful in some circumstances to be able to view:
Inventories and currency.
XP status down to an individual Ship.
Current Captains and their builds and the ships they're assigned to.
Here is a Shower-thought: Wargamming provide an API to create a link for parameter'd visibility into the status of your port to hand to others?
I've been slowly introducing more friends to ships for years and a lot of the basics are how to set up different ships, your builds and stuff. But as time progresses I can't keep track of the progress some are making on ships, and as Clan battles near, I don't know of a good way to essentially inventory what we have or what potential recruits may have.
Not all uses use reddit, or brows the channels of Community Contributors, or even the Wargamming website, so resources on gaming information isn't always obvious. And from player to player there isn't anything beyond warships.today.
Just thought I'd throw this working thought out there.
