Should I get the IS-8? (Read text body for more info)

I'm soon going to have enough XP/coins for the IS-8, so should I get it or turn back for the KV-3? If it matters, the heavium playstyle suits me well, and my IS-3 is my favorite tank and has great stats. Also, I'm not playing for the long-term, so is it worth it to spend a lot of time backtracking for the KV-3? Thanks!
