Starting to work out at 46

I have recently quit smoking and am wanting to start a workout routine to get into better shape and hopefully put on about 15lbs. I am 46 6’ 150lbs male. I’ve been this size since my junior year in high school and I would love some advice on smart weight gaining and workout tips. I truly have no clue how to go about it! Thanks in advance.
