is it just me or it is annoying how when you make a new map and put citys down how you are expected to put down all of the infrastructure, jobs, factory's, farms, everything except the roads, homes, and capitalist churches. Personally I would like the option to have another scale for city's, a scale of development.
The scale would go from bottom to top as a barren land, agrarian land, factory land, commodity land, and finally a built land. Barren is exactly how it is now, only roads, huts, and churches. Agrarian would have everyone work towards food production in fields and factory's making bread and meat, with a import of energy powering the factory's and city's. Factory would have us making our own food, coal, steel, gravel, concrete, bricks, and power. commodity would have us make our own food, coal, steel, gravel, concrete, bricks, prefabs, asphalt, chemicals, clothes, and power. And finally there would be the easiest, the built land where the republic makes everything with little to no imports.
This would help with the immersion of being a leader of a newly taken republic, made on the iron curtain with a newly established communist party at its head. The only things that you would then have to put in would be police, courts, prisons, radio, tv, secret police, and other governmental buildings. The downside to all of this is that the easier the start the harder the people are to persuade to communism as many people would have lived in a "free" country would want to live in a simular country and so there would be a mass exodus of people fleeing the country. and so now the problem isnt building the nation but rather keeping those who are already there.
