I remember talking with my boomer boss and let it slip that I worked about 16 different jobs by the time I was 23 and started working for our medical device manufacturer.

She laid into me about why I’ve been struggling is a lack of commitment and that “It’s not a good look,” and “didn’t fill her with a lot of confidence.”

Well… telling people that they have to bounce between 1st and 2nd shift hours, aren’t allowed to work more than 20 hours in a week, don’t qualify for benefits (IE health insurance) and that you’re only going to pay them $8 an hour isn’t a good look either and doesn’t fill me with the confidence I need to “tough it out” with the company
