Iā€™m not afraid to make waves, and defend myself and it is fascinating to see the changes in office culture.

I was talking to an older boomer who was incredulous that I didnā€™t respond to work emails at home. Trying to lecture me about dedication and ā€œproving my worth.ā€ I had to explain I am hourly, I donā€™t get paid to answer emails outside my working hours.

But Iā€™ve been taken advantage of too many times by employers and I finally started putting my foot down because of it.

Iā€™ve been fired from jobs because I wouldnā€™t bend over and grab my ankles and thatā€™s fine by me.
