What is Prolifc

Prolific Academic is world's largest crowdsourcing community of people who love science. Researchers post studies and recruit the right participants fast. Participants earn rewards while helping to advance human knowledge.

How do you get Paid

After you complete your first study, you will need to wait until your submission is approved by the researcher (usually within 1-3 days, sometimes longer). This short waiting period is important to ensure quality control. Their initial payment threshold is only £5 (with a small PayPal fee). If you want to avoid PayPal fees, then wait until you have accumulated £20. To get paid, simply click on the "Get Paid"-button in your participant account. If your PayPal email address is different from the one you signed up with on Prolific, it will be no problem to enter the correct PayPal email in your participant account.

How many studies can I participate in?

As many as you wish - the sky is your limit. Since we're a young start-up, please bear with us for now - we'll do our best to allow for new studies to be posted.

How much time do I have to work on a study?

Researchers can specify the "Estimated Completion Time" for a study or in other words, how long a participant should approximately take to complete a study. Researchers also specify a "Maximum Completion Time". You should always aim to complete the study in less time than allotted by the researcher. This mechanism ensures that studies are completed in a reasonable time period. If you take too long to submit the study you are participating in, then you'll time out and the researcher may reject your payment.

Pricing

On Prolific, we endorse the principle of 'ethical rewards'. That is, we stipulate that researchers pay participants a minimum of £5 (~6.50€ / $7.50) per hour.

My take on prolific

I have been on prolific since mid of last year (might as well be the initial batch of people who joined it) Here is what I have earned alone with payment proof :- 1 2. .

The studies are regularly posted and the seats fill up pretty fast. People all over the world can sign up @ prolific . I have had a very good experience with them and unlike most of the survey sites they do pay.
