I (20F) am pretty sure I was fired from my job because of my disability. Help!!
Post Body

I apologize in advance for such a long post but me getting fired has been brewing for about a week. So yesterday I was fired half way through my shift at an animal hospital near me. I am currently working on getting my degree as a veterinary technician and I was lucky enough to score a job as a paid intern/assistant at this animal hospital. I started on August 20th of this year. Now just so you know I have a form of dysautonomia which is a neurological disorder which for me means that I have exercise intolerance. I can handle pretty much anything now that I have been working out more at the gym to prepare me for being on my feet all day. So last week on wednesday I was mopping, which in some cases gets my heart rate high which is no concern for me anymore. I do not pass out and i'm of no risk to anyone I just get a bit hot is all. So i'm hot and a little sweaty and needed to take a few minutes so I asked my manager if that was alright. She said yeah but we need to talk so i'm like alright just let me clock out for my break and i'll be back. So i clock out come back and she sits me down in the office with my other manager. She tells me that "If i cannot push a mop around I should definitely look into getting a completely different career. Maybe I could do office work. If I can't push a mop then being a vet tech is not something I can do and I definitely shouldn't be working in their fast placed clinic" SO AT THAT POINT I AM CRYING. I have lived my entire life thinking that I was a burden because I could not play as a kid. I needed constant attention because I had problems. I wasn't normal. I couldn't play sports etc. But I grew out of it. In my cardiologists exact words "I have no physical limitations". Anyways so back to this. She lets me continue on my way and work but now I am like damn I am going to get fired over something as small as taking a literal 2 MINUTE BREAK!! I was hurt and upset but I continued my way through my shift. All weekend i'm like damn I am going to lose my job. I leave a note for my manager and she calls me later on. I told her what happened and she says my other manager mentioned it. I asked if I was going to lose my job and she told me that I was completely fine and that I definitely wouldn't lose my job.

SO fast forward to this Monday. I get to work and I am working my ass off to make sure I don't get fired. And i'm doing well but I started coughing blood. I had freaking bronchitis so i'm like "I gotta Jen I have to go to the ER" So i go to the ER and I spent the night there. They told me I had bronchitis and a UTI with 4 different bacteria. They kept me until Tuesday at 12 pm. Mind you my shift was at nine am so i had to call in. I called in around 8 told them I was in the ER and I would be back the next day. Manager said sure that's fine. start to feel better. I was like wow no big deal I didn't get fired that's cool I'll work hella hard tomorrow. So go home, I rest up, and go to work the next day.

So it's Wednesday I have bronchitis, which is very contagious, and I am working my ass off. I had to bring my kitten in for vaccines so I showed up early and got him settled in the cat ward and checked him in. I get through 3/4 of my shift and I was called in to the office by a different manager and the guy that owns the vet hospital. He proceeds to tell me he is sorry but that it just isn't working out. He says "your health is a big concern and we just do not need the help. There isn't enough to do." Other manager, the one that told me I definitely wasn't going to get fired, said "There's always things to do in this hospital". I AM BALLING. SO owner of the hospital keeps saying that I am a health concern. I tell him "My cardiologist is writing a letter right now to state that I have no physical limitations and that I am cleared for all areas of work. It just might take me a bit longer in some cases but I am fine." He says" that's great but you are a health concern. Would you like us to get your kittens vaccines or just leave?" I said "I will take him elsewhere, Could i go now?" He says"No he needs his vaccines you are already here let's just get it over with" I say" NO i want to leave. Can i go get my cat?" He leaves and takes my kitten into a room to get his vaccines. I follow him and try to get my cat from him while I am balling my eyes out in front of the entire hospital. I am so infuriated and embarrassed. They get me and my cat into a room and get him his vaccines. Owner of hospital says "You're a great person and a hard worker I will write you a letter of recommendation today and we will find you another vet hospital so you can continue on your career. But here you are a health concern and we cannot have that"

So guys what do you think I should do about this? I live in Pennsylvania so if they wanted to fire me without a reason they could have done that it's legal in this state. But they brought my health into it many many many times. Oh plus in the companies paperwork it states that "If you have an infectious disease and cannot attend work that it will not be held against you" I mean is bronchitis an infectious disease? It is highly contagious so I mean that kinda means infectious duhh. What do I do?
