I have been with my current employer for 1 year and a few weeks doing software development. I have had great success here and done phenomal. All of my Performence Evalās have been great and my client feedback for the current project Iām on has had near flawless completion every time. (Out of 7 demonstrations only 1 had feedback from the client). However, I walked in today and got slapped with a PIP out of seemingly nowhere. My manager (who I talk to maybe once a month) says that my teams has tried to have multiple meetings with me to discuss potential issues. But there is proof that I havenāt had any meetings or information received to me by the lack of calendar invites, physical messages, or anything I have received from my team. Iām now lost and unsure how to do, my manager is confident Iāll be successful over the PIP but Iāve heard PIP just means your fired and need to leave now.
My PIP includes all work is completed 100% solely by myself with no other help used, is in perfect condition with no flaws present and following best practices of the company. I am to come into the office Tuesday-Thursday at 8 am sharp and leave at 4pm earliest. Monday and Friday work from home.
Little context, Iām always to work on time and Iām usually one of the first 3 in the office everyday (Tuesday-Thursday). Many people come in @ 9 and leave at 2-3. Iāve done this in the past as Iāve been verbally told by the director of my department that developers have this luxury as long as no issues are present. When I asked if Iām allowed I was told yes. Im now being told something different with this PIP.
Any advice is welcomed and Iāll incorporate any feedback I can.
TLDR; I got put on a PIP and am looking for advice on what to do next
Update: I got fired. Iāve been applying like crazy but havenāt heard back from anything. There was clear written evidence that my job performance improved massively at the company with high remarks from multiple upper level managers. But ultimately I was fired for āpoor job performanceā and when I asked for any information or examples of this, they couldnāt provide one and stated that it was āa general decreaseā
