So basically I've worked at my current job for 2 years, it's insanely busy. I have so many things to do and so much responsibility and it's just me to do it. I work on strategy, implementation and delivery and everything in between in my area of expertise.
Every year or so when things get particularly tough (crunch time mid year) I will get so stressed out I lose sleep, can't eat, lots of fun stuff.
The job pays super well, but I'm wondering if it's worth it. My time is fucked as I work 50 hours and have a gross 4 hour commute 3 days a week to top it all off.
My boss is super nice but always so busy and is always cancelling our catch ups and 1:1 time. I have a big presentation to the leadership team in a couple weeks to define strategy for the year ahead (90 minute presentation in front of 10 senior leaders) and they haven't even looked at my slides... this adds to my stress as I feel I'm floating in the ether hoping I'm doing things right.
Sorry this is a semi vent (have barely slept and about to jump on the train for my morning 2 hour trip) but also want to sense check if I'm being dramatic or if this is a crap job (that happens to pay well) and I would be right to quit.
Thanks for hearing me out.
