Sanding old furniture without mask

Post Body

I hope it's okay, I'm asking the question here. I was sanding the paint of an old piece of furniture without a mask for about 10 hours outdoors over some days. However, I did get a considerable amount of dust in my head - it entered airways and eyes. It was only today that it occurred to me that it could be harmful to my health after I began coughing a bit. I know it sounds really stupid and irresponsible but It just didn't occur to me that it could be dangerous. If the paint contained lead, how much damage have I caused my health? I'm scared shitless, I've seriously damaged my health
