Question about sliding dado doors

I dont know the name for these types of doors, sorry. But id like to build a cabinet with doors that slide in the dados. Based on the drawings, top is the front view and bottom is a top cross section view of the 4 panels that slide. Would the size of those panels be too large for them to slide without so much force?
I plan to build this with ¾" maple plyboards. And it'll be in the garage, i live in a place with cold winters so not sure how itll effect the wood. Suggestion?
