Collecting the dice

So now that dice are shared account wide I'm much more interested in collecting them all. Do yall think it would be easier to do on my main character, or start fresh and just grab them all on a new character so there's no guessing which one I have?
Or are the dice that you already have removed from all other toons as well and just show a little golden burn mark?
