Question about Dedicated Loot Drops

Friend and I were hoping that Wonderlands would work like BL2 in that we could farm the named bosses for the legendaries.
I was told some of the named enemies and bosses don’t respawn that have loot.
Is that true? Could someone shed some light on it for me? Please and thank you.
