Maybe an obvious question but I've been reflecting upon this over the past few days. Seems to me you can only qualify for the Champions League first round, second round and group stage. In other words, the bigger leagues usually get 2-3 teams competing in Europe and the smaller leagues get 1 spot if even that much.
I'm not saying this should necessarily change but it's interesting that the idea of having a Women's Europa League where teams that finish fourth, fifth or sixth in their respective leagues never seems to be brought up. More competitiveness is only going to make women's football more popular.
