Tampons and IUD’s
Post Body

My Kyleena IUD came out about a month ago when I was taking out a tampon - I think what happened was that the strings of my IUD got caught in the top of the tampon and when I pulled out the tampon, the IUD came out with it (my gyno said this is rare but it can happen sometimes).

I just got a new IUD inserted 2 weeks ago, and I’m on my period now. I’m super paranoid about using tampons again, but my flow is pretty heavy right now and I’m going through like 3-4 pads a day. Also, my gyno says it’s not safe to use a menstrual cup with an IUD, so that’s not an option. Does anyone know of a tampon that might be safer to use with an IUD? I was using Tampax Radiant and I usually would use the Super or Super Plus absorbency. Is there a kind of tampon that’s shorter or “smaller”?
