Passed this fleshy thing on period

So yesterday on my period I had terrible cramps which honestly isn’t new for me so I just took ibprofen and used my heating pad. Then I went to the bathroom and this fleshy red ish purple ish triangular thing came out of me. I called the nurses advice line but they were not very helpful. I did start a new birth control (the patch), and I looked it up and it said possibly residual cast? I feel like it’s too fleshy to be a blood clot? And it was like reddish purple? Have this happened to anyone before?
