And don’t we kinda have one already — the one that gets all that free stuff to you once your doctor says “Congrats, you’re pregnant”?

And when women-adverse lawmakers present their 1984-ish traps, they’ll present them as something to benefit women — moms — and kids. To trick voters like corporate interests are hidden in shell corporations. The women who most need protections — who don’t see through this crap — are the ones who will get ensnared.

About 25 years ago when an anti-marriage equality measure was on the California ballot, it was worded so that a “yes” vote would work against it passing. I was a student in California at one of the top 20 universities in the world, and I found myself in a verbal showdown with another woman in my major who insisted that a “Yes on Measure ___” was a vote for marriage equality.

She wasn’t dumb. It was designed to confuse.

I’m so glad that women are so much more educated and informed by ourselves and other like-minded women.
