Corrupt save file problem in The Old Blood

So I started the game yesterday and got all the way up to the end of chapter 4 (turned the game off when it saved after the fight with Rudi Jäger or whatever his name was). When I turned it on just now and wanted to continue, it said the save file is corrupted, and when I tried to play it, it got replaced by a brand new file that starts from the beginning of the game. My question is, is there any way to fix this and bring the old file back? Cos I really don’t wanna play from the beginning again, I’d rather just skip the rest of the game and continue straight to The New Colossus.
