I wonder if Tam Al'Thor knew who Lan was...?

I would think the last king of Malkier would be well known during the Aiel War, therefore Tam would likely have known of him. Did he recognize who Lan was early in the series? Obviously, Tam's personality indicates that he would not have said anything to anyone if he had recognized Lan, just to mind his own business and to maintain his humble demeanor. I was just wondering based upon the newer trailer that has Lan making a dramatic entrance with Tam sitting in the Inn (not like the books).
