IDK if I worded it right but so far I've finished the fifth book and Rand is by far the character I look most forward to reading.
Usually, when I read other books or shows the main character is not the one I most relate to but here holy shit how do people argue that Rand is pretty bland? In the first book, okay that is where that argument would stand but it was because I believe Robert Jordan wanted it that way, I think correct me if I'm wrong,
From him being told he's the Dragon Reborn who will both save and destroy the world and his reaction to it alongside Mat and Perrin's, to Rand basically outsmarting two Forsaken and capturing one of them to be his teacher (I know it was Lanfear who did it but still)
Like seriously while reading the Shadow Rising I kept thinking why was he acting so strange especially when he met Hadnan Kadere, the whole conversation between him and Mat about looking at the eyes. Then you figure it out he planned the whole thing to get at Asmodean or Lanfear? and he knew from the start that the peddlers were Darkfriends and prob Asmodean or Lanfear in disguise. Now I'm not sure if that was his intent from the start (capturing Asmodean) but it worked out in his favour so wonderfully.
I'm taking a few days break before starting the next book because man that ending with Moraine and my man Asmodean. I need to mourne.
