I still consider myself a novice as far as fantasy fiction. I was, as a lot of people, introduced to Tolkien and C.S. Lewis, but stopped there until Game of Thrones came on TV and I decided to read it. Got sucked in and came here to find other great series. I read Mistborn and then started WoT because of its reputation.
Now I hear a lot of people say it gets tedious in the middle, but I've find myself having to slog through parts of the beginning (I'm about a fifth through book four). I don't know if its his writing style, but I feel they are very slow to start and I just have a hard time getting into in the beginnings. Now don't get me wrong, once they get going they are really exciting. I sped through book 2 but took a break after 3 to read some other books.
Has anyone else had this experience? What I'm getting at is the juice worth the squeeze? I feel that most people who would subscribe to this subreddit would obviously not feel this way, but I was just wondering.
