I am 200 races into Career Mode. All of my races have been in sprint cars. 12 seasons, 98 wins, 7 Championships, currently sitting in 8th place 12 races into my first 410 season.
For reference, I am playing with a PS5, a Logitech G923 wheel and pedals and 95% of the time I use headphones. I never played any of the Tony Stewart games, but I played hundreds of hours (including as recently as earlier this year) on the PS2 WoO Sprint Car game by DirtBag.
Wanted to share some observations I have of WoO Dirt.
Positives:
Man this game loads freaking fast
I love how the wheel and pedals with the FF make me feel the dirt. Especially when you catch the cushion and power into or off of a corner.
I run the inside. Almost exclusively. And I can be fast down there in the mains.
The depth of the Career mode is gigantic. As noted, I've run 12 seasons and have yet to sniff a non-open wheel car.
There isn't much better than knowing you've nailed a great lap and hearing "And that's QUICK TIME!!!" from the announcer.
The number of tracks is impressive out of the gate.
Negatives:
I get real tired of getting clipped by lapped cars when I'm in 8th and they are already a lap down. Get the fuck out of the way.
Wish you could switch cars during the replay.
Wish you could record the replays with the game rather than having to use the PS5 feature.
Have yet to find a PS5 lobby with sprint cars, so I haven't tried online.
Other thoughts:
Not all that interested in making skins, but I appreciate all of your work.
When you make that perfect slide off the inside coming out of the corner and cut off that run from behind on the outside, it is a thing of beauty. I always replay those, lol.
IMHO, upgrade (in this order): Tires, Engine, Suspension, Wings, Chassis.
Modifieds have never interested me as a racing fan. My dad started taking me to races when I was 3 or 4 (I'm 54 now) and I have always rather watched sprint cars or late models.
I guess that's about it. I welcome all and any comments.
