So, something very serendipitous happened this Saturday. I was visiting a witchcraft museum we have here for the first time with a friend, when suddenly we heard music. Apparently, the museum also had a ritual area, and we just so happened to be there when one was going on, specifically to the goddess of fire Brigid.
Now, for context, I am still finding my footing when it comes to witchcraft, but I do know that I have an affinity for Wicca (I named myself Diana before I even knew anything about Wicca and always loved the moon), so I felt a little out of place. But still, I felt very welcomed, and I'd say around 20% of the attendees were also there for the first time. Perhaps Brigid felt my hesitance because when we lit candles mine was the first one to go out, but other than that, I had a wonderful experience. We sang, we danced, we meditated, and we performed a circle of healing ritual together. It genuinely felt like, for those couple of hours, we were somewhere else outside this world.
I'll admit, I was very nervous, but it also felt wonderful to be around so many like-minded people. I cannot even imagine how it must feel to have a coven of people you personally know, something I now find myself craving.
Initially, I just wanted to share the experience, but now I'm curious; witchcraft often seems like such a private and lonely activity, how many of you have covens, or at least others you can share your craft with?
