No. But 3, then 1, then 2 makes even less sense than backwards.
Why announce it if it’s a long way off ? When they’ve got an update for 3 supposedly coming out in the next 2 months (just over). Surely I’m not alone in wanting to play a series in order.
I’d rather you get them to stop announcing things years in advance, never turns out well.
I’m not trying to be a dick and I guess I overthink these things a lot. But to me if Witcher 1 is getting a remake, that makes me want to wait to play the Witcher 3 update until I can play Witcher 1, then 2 and then play 3.
I’ve already been waiting two years to finish 3, so the idea of waiting another year or two to play 1 then another couple years to play 2, then finally being able to finish 3 sucks.
I just wanna play the trilogy in order.
I played and loved 2 when it first came out on 360, but I can’t really remember any of it now. I never got to play 1 because I only had consoles growing up so I couldn’t play it even if I knew it existed then.
I really tried to play 2 again on Xbox one x a year or two ago and the performance was fine for the time (30fps) but after playing 3, the combat in 2 just seemed clunky and shallow. I just couldn’t enjoy it.
Great but what about 2 ?
It’s going to be annoying having a remade Witcher 1, with an updated Witcher 3. If we want to do a full trilogy play through we’d have to go through Witcher 2 in its current state and I don’t know about pc but I couldn’t deal with the how clunky the controls are in W2’s Xbox 360 version.
Also if all 3 were remade/updated, then carrying choices forward throughout the trilogy maybe possible again ?
Obviously the first needs it more but then you’ll have 2 games made to todays standard and one stuck in 2011.
I’ve already waited like 2 years for a 60fps patch on a 7 year old game. How much patience am I expected to have ?.
No I’m just pointing out currently there are no confirmed plans to do anything with 2 and if there was plans to do it why wouldn’t they announce it when they’ve already announced like 5 other Witcher games.
