Had no voice/music audio when I played Witcher 3 after the next-gen update and found a fix for it. At first, I didn't find much about it on the internet, there was a similar bug once but that was years ago and nothing really worked for me, after some digging I stumbled over a comment under a video that showed the same bug as I had and it contained the solution to the problem. You have to follow the file path C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Witcher 3\content and delete the "patch0" and "patch1" folders thereafter the sound works fine again. I tried it myself and it worked. Hopefully this post can help if someone runs into the same problem.

- update. Fix for me was to go to sound settings -> advanced -> more sound settings -> playback, click on your output speakers > properties > spatial sound > turn on windows sonic for headphones. Yes I'm not using headphones but I worked and I have no idea why.
Fantastic! I had to do this on dragon age inquisition as well fyi for everyone else!
I still haven't figured this out mate sorry. Really don't know what's up with that...
Mmm I'm afraid not mate sorry. I double checked it just now. I need to keep turning it back on every time I shut down my lap top but other than that it says on . I'm on windows 11 btw. Seems silly to ask but have you tried the OP's method?
Hahaha you're welcome. Enjoy the game!
