Hi!

So, my parents and I are currently living in a triplex owned by 'extended' family (relatives not directly blood related to us, but by marriage), and between the rent and terrible caretaking we are looking to move. Initially, I was going to move out and live in a 3-bedroom with a couple of friends, but an eye opening reality check occurred last night which made me realize that moving all of us out was our situation.

I saw some listings for 2-bedroom/2-baths, but I'm open to 3-bedroom as well as long as there are 2-baths because we have lived too long with 1-bath with numerous fights. The listing I saw was fair enough given it's pet friendly and I'm looking to get a cat for personal reasons, but because it's 20 years since I've moved I have no clue what my checklist items are.

First and foremost, the listings I've seen only include water as the utilities, but I'm quite aware there are others, so how much should I factor in per month for hydro/electricity, heating, etc.? What things do I need to be aware of moving into somewhere different (address changes, etc.?)? What fees/costs do I need to factor in during the first month? Do you have any recommendations for movers? Junk removal?

We're splitting the rent between the three of us, but I'm going to chip in more because I'm the only one working-- both of my parents are retired. Any advice and recommendations would be appreciated! Thank you!
