Can't get the OpenXR demo to run

I have a Samsung Odyssey which works excellently with the Mixed Reality portal, and with steam games as well (i'm using a zephyrus g laptop with a 1660ti set as the default graphics card). However, I can't launch any of the OpenXR demos, including the microsoft openxr developers demo. Is there a problem with OpenXR support at the moment? Or is there some special thing I have to do to get OpenXR going?

I managed to get OpenXR working on my oculus rift, so I know the demos I'm using work, but would love to get it going on my odyssey (since it's the nicest vr headset I have).
