New Buyer needs some help. Not sure which one to go for.
Post Body

Hi everyone. I plan to get a VR headset soon, in about a month or so, and I'm having some difficulty choosing one.

Bear in mind, I'm not in the US, and prices probably vary a ton. As such, my budget is 500 USD, and I'm willing to stretch to 600 if its really worth it.

After checking local stores (importing is likely going to cost too much), I'm left with only a couple options. They are:

  • Acer OJO 500
  • Oculus Rift S
  • Samsung Odyssey (but very hard to find)

Right now, I'm leaning toward the Acer OJO 500. 90Hz display, very good resolution, and it seems to be great value. Especially in comparison to the Oculus Rift S, which has a lower refresh rate, no physical IPD adjustment, and a lower resolution. Seemingly the FOV is better in the OJO than the Rift S as well.

My only concerns really are tracking issues due to occlusion, but assuming I don't regularly try to bend my hands in an awkward position, I think I'll be fine. Also, I'm not entirely sure if the OJO is a step up from the initial Acer WMR, but my friend who has it regularly complains about tracking issues so I think I'll steer clear of that one.

Could really use some advice on what to go for, and any other recommendations on a headset to get. I'll try to find your suggestions, but really any help would be appreciated.

Thank you so much!

Also, I'd prefer trying to get a new one, and the only options in that range are primarily WMR headsets, which is why I'm asking here rather than /r/virtualreality.
