WindowsMR not compatible with Win10 Pro 'N'. Any known workarounds?

I'm not sure how widely this is known, but I've just learned that WMR isn't compatible with Windows 10 Home or Pro N edition - a special European version without certain media-related aspects. There are packs to restore these, but it does not solve the compatibility issue.
Aside from buying a new product key for Windows 10 regular edition, does anyone know any workarounds to get things working?
At the moment, my new Lenovo is a pretty paperweight.
