Brand new headset not starting?

I followed a checklist on Microsoft’s website that says to try using a high powered usb hub... kinda bummed because I asked if this would be a problem and got downvoted/told no it wouldn’t.
Need a recommendation for a usb hub that works. Preferably Amazon. I live really rural so probably going to have to next day ship it ASAP to have any hope of getting a part before next week...
edit: in case anyone searches and reads this in the future, my problem was having Windows Home N instead of Windows Home.
