Hello dear community,
I hope this question is in the right sub. I'm open to suggestions on where it might fit better.
Now to the problem. A friend of mine suddenly couldn't open Valorant (Riot Games) anymore. The game gets stuck on the loading screen and won't load into the game. The same thing happens with It Takes Two (Steam game, runs through EA). Other games like osu (downloaded from the internet) and Sims (also through EA as far as I know) are working fine.
After she couldn't fix the problem, I tried to help. I'm not very knowledgeable, but I know a bit. Everything I've tried hasn't worked.
Here are the steps I've tried: - Updating drivers and Windows - System File Checker - Clean Boot (disabled everything in autostart) - Uninstalled and reinstalled - Disabled core isolation (found in a thread online)
As a last resort, we completely reinstalled Windows, and the problem still persists.
At this point, I'm at a loss.
Does anyone here have any ideas on how to solve the problem? Could it be a BIOS setting? Riot Games introduced the kernel-level anti-cheat Vanguard around the time it stopped working. Maybe it has something to do with that? But then I don't understand why It Takes Two isn't working either.
One more piece of information that might be relevant: Riot Support suggested uninstalling the games completely using "Revo Uninstaller." Valorant couldn't be uninstalled there and showed a file size of 2.98TB. Something seems off there, but a fresh installation of Windows should fix it.
As you can tell, I'm a bit desperate. Fixing the problem would be greatly appreciated, and we're grateful for any help.
Edit: The games worked flawlessly for a long time before this. The PC is only a few months old. If the exact specs are relevant, I can ask for them later. The PC was prebuilt by dubaro.
Edit2: I just got the info that after reinstalling Windows, everything is very slow and crashes.
