Sudden Unfixable: BSOD Bad_System_Config_Info (xpost r/techsupport)

Post Body

Hi all,

Running Windows 10, pretty sure it's the most recent build. Posting here because there are about 73,000 more active members in this sub.

Booted up my computer this morning and used it for a couple minutes to pay some bills. Suddenly it crashed with a "BAD POOL ERROR" (or something to that effect). When it rebooted, it went into a boot loop of "BAD SYSTEM CONFIG INFO." Automatic disk repair does not work. I cannot boot into safe mode. My system restore points do not load (I could have sworn I had some of those).

I don't want to reset the PC because I have tracks for my band's demo saved on here - I was just about to get up and grab my backup External HD. L o l.

Okay anyway, I am able to do the first fix mentioned here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Windows10/comments/3flfpf/bad_system_config_info_bsod_windows_10_and_i_dont/ by opening Command Prompt from the "Advanced" reboot menu and entering the following commands: *bootrec /fixmbr *bootrec /fixboot *bootrec /rebuildbcd

It doesn't work, though. Just boots me back to the same error screen.

I upgraded automatically from 7 and do not have a Win10 DVD.

What's my next step?

Thanks!
