edit: Isn't DISM supposed to use windows update and a manual source optionally? https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh824869.aspx

EDIT: The dism command worked when I used a deployment iso that contains the .wim image. the iso used to create a media (USB boot) does NOT work with dism (ESD image)
