Windows 7 Attempting To Force Updates to Windows 10 in the Background

So, I heard about some attempts to update to Windows 10 without the users consent that can be checked in the Windows Update history. I decided to check, and Windows has tried to force me to update over 35 times in the background.
I've been wanting to wait for kinks to be worked out and been waiting longer and longer because of the forced updates Windows 10 pushes on its users, so I'm wondering what to do to keep it from continuing to force updates.
