I've been using the controller via USB for a while now with no problem what so ever, I decided to install the xbox accessories app via the store, it installed fine and told me I needed to update the controller so I did, the progress bar stopped halfway through telling me that it encountered a problem, I didn't touch anything so I was confused, decided to quit out of the app since there was no option to do anything and unplugging and plugging in the controller had no effect.

Now, windows won't work with the controller, in device manager it tells me "The device cannot start (code 10)" under the 'Xbox controller DFU' device. I've tried updating it manually multiple times and ran trouble shooting which found the errors but it couldn't fix them.

tried going to the website and it tells me windows should automatically update the drivers, checked for updates and I get nothing, fully up to date apparently on the windows side of things.

Any ideas
