Hello,

Let me first of all state that I hope I'm posting this in the right subreddit, anyways.. Earlier today my ~4 year old laptop (Acer Aspire 5742G) received the newest update for the Win10 "demo". Since then I've had problems using it at all, however. Suddenly my screen would turn into a random color (white (mainly), black, cyan, dark blue, magenta if I recall correctly), where it would switch between these every now and then, but mainly stick to the white one. I would be forced to manually shut it down and start it up again.

At first it would take a couple of minutes to do so, but it slowly ended out doing it faster and faster, until it (now) won't even start up. I've tried to use a USB drive with Linux on it, just to access my files without luck. As soon as the laptop is turned on now, the fan starts spinning way faster than normal.

The driver for the GPU had been updated, and even did so today to see if that could fix the problem.

Anyways.. Is there anything to be done (at least to save the files), or is the laptop going ot the scrap yard?
