Actual Benefits of a Seasonal Permanent Position?

So this is my first season working with USFS and I was offered a perm seasonal position, which I accepted. Iām still confused about all this though, what is the difference between this type of position and just a temporary seasonal?
Is it just that I get the job security of not having to reapply for the job next year? Are there other benefits?
