I am looking to backpack in the Shenandoah valley. I'm experienced with hiking (not backpacking) in mountainous terrain, and am wondering how much elevation plays into a multi day hike in Shenandoah. The highest grade that I have in my current route is 576ft/mi, but the other days are relatively mild. Does this seem reasonable for someone relatively new to backpacking? I've done trails around Florida but not anywhere mountainous. For reference I'm aiming to be walking close to 10 miles a day, and my pack will be roughly 35 lbs.
