A branch fell on my new Big Agnes Copper Spur HV UL2 Long tent on the first trip out and snagged/tore several little bits of the top panel mesh. I used a bit of monofilament and needle to stitch it closed (didn't work) and ultimately used a bit of a friends seam sealer from his patch kit to repair in the field. It worked, but it isn't pretty and we put the sealant over the monofilament thread which is now poking out a bit. I am concerned that leaving it will cause abrasion wear when packed as it jostles around.
I have heard Big Agnes's repairs are fairly inexpensive and opened a case. They did say they won't replace a whole panel, but instead just patch it. I spent about $700 all in with the groundsheet and was hoping to not have a janky looking repair (i.e. more visible repair than mine) on an otherwise new tent.
Has anyone here used their repair services for mesh repair and if so, how did it look after? Would you use their repair services again?
