Would I be mad to wear a shirt as my base layer no matter the weather?
Post Body

Bought a button shirt as my base layer (UPF 50 ) and im much preferring it to long sleeve and short sleeve base layers in terms of looks and feel, but I live in a cold climate so will often need a fleece as a second layer while hiking.

Could I get away with just wearing a shirt as a base layer no matter the weather (even -5C on a mountain). The plan would be to wear a thermal merino wool base layer underneath if it gets too cold (so I could hike on a -5C mountain without freezing to death). Any disadvantages to this? Thanks.
