Trying to plan a loop for the Beaten Path. Thinking going from North to South. But I didn't want to take the same route back to our car. I was thinking staying the night in Cooke City. Head back north going north through Granite Peak and Frozen to Death Plateau. But I can not find any campsites or information via the internet. Looking for a campsite around Upper Aero Lake. And another campsite north of Granite Peak around the Frozen to Death Plateau area. Any suggestions?

I would like to do 8-10 miles a day. No more than 12. Higher elevation days I would prefer shorter days. Or maybe I should do this loop counter clockwise. Do the hard part early in the hike?

Or is Granite Peak Trail no possible for backpackers and too technical?
