I made this Besom a couple months ago but never shared it here. It’s made of the stems from lilies. Every year I get these beautiful long lilies in early summer, which dry up and fall to the ground after the flowers have bloomed and gone. I was meditating one day, thinking about how I needed a besom and this idea came to me.
The ‘handle’ is an oak stick that fell from one of my trees. If you plan to make one of these yourself, I suggest a thicker stick. I wrapped a yellow/white quartz around the top, threaded 3 beads of Jasper on each side of an Evil Eye and wrapped everything in copper wire.
I’m pretty happy with it, though I have to use a different one for sweeping off my altar itself, this one is fantastic for ridding my entire room of any negative energy. I hope everyone likes it and maybe it inspires you to make one yourself!
Crafting a besom from lily stems sounds like a wonderfully creative way to bring nature into your practice
