This is my draft for once non-human characters are eventually allowed. Thought I'd ask for some C&C as well as ask if someone wants to be included in the origin story.

Character Name: Achilles / Captain Gorilla

Background: After the white event, with superheroes seemingly on every street corner, despotic regimes scrambled to hold on to their power in any way they could. But try as they might, their soldiers were no match for the tide of freethinking super-citizens. May regimes were unable to hold on to their power, some were able to bribe the most powerful supers into working in their interests. One dictatorship was so universally reviled by its people, however, that no bribes would bring their supers in line. So they turned to a new solution. Reaching out to villainous superhuman geniuses in the United States, they sought to create super-soldiers capable of fighting the tide of malcontent metas. And they did it. They successfully created a formula that would, theoretically, boost anyone to the absolute maximum potential humanity is capable of. However it was a complex process, one that absolutely could not be moved or administered by anyone other than the one who designed it. So for testing, the test subjects would have to be flown into America.

Unfortunately, no one was willing to take the serum before it had been tested. And the dictator already had so many malcontent supers on his hands that he was worried if there were any more and it may be too late to tip the balance of power back in his favor. So he left it to the designer of the serum to do animal testing. The designer, being an evil villain and all, took the easiest, most illegal route he could, and promptly gathered subjects by stealing them from a local zoo. One of these subjects was a runt gorilla named Achilles. Tests on subjects less similar to humans bore poor results, but on the gorillas, especially Achilles, they worked wonders. In fact, it worked on a level even greater than the scientist expected, and gave Achilles the intelligence and power to escape his confinement, and many of the other animals with him, destroying the lab and all of the scientist’s work.

Now free, Achilles now seeks to return to where he is meant to be, the jungle, but the American public has mistaken him for another originally human meta, and he often gets wrapped up in the matters of masked and caped vigilantes.

Description: Achilles is tall enough to look an average, 6’ tall human in the eye when he is in a gorilla’s standard knuckle-walking pose. When he stands up straight he is well over 8’ tall. He is covered in coarse black hair, except over his chest, face, and hands, which are covered in coal-black skin. He is extremely built, even for a gorilla.

Personality: He has a bit of a grumpy demeanor but beneath that he's alright. He is also extremely intelligent as a result of the experiment, but people often think he’s stupid because he’s an animal. Also he’s incapable of speaking any human languages, which doesn’t help either of those things. He doesn't solely look out for himself, and will often help other people if he sees they need it, but he doesn't intentionally seek out villains.

Alignment: Chaotic Neutral

Tier listing: Upper street tier.

Powers:

  • Peak Gorilla Strength: Captain Gorilla has the strength of a gorilla who has been training in powerlifting their entire life.

  • Peak Gorilla Durability: Captain Gorilla’s body is hardened by the same factor as his strength.

  • Peak Gorilla Speed: Captain Gorilla is as fast as a gorilla who had trained in sprinting their entire life. Since most gorillas sit on their ass all day, this trait is particularly raised above the others.

  • Peak Gorilla Agility: Captain Gorilla has all the agility of a young gorilla swinging through tree vines. Combined with his strength and speed, this makes him quite the acrobat.

  • Peak Gorilla Endurance: Captain Gorilla has impeccable endurance for a gorilla, able to fight for hours before tiring.

  • Enhanced Reactions: Captain Gorilla has incredible reaction times, on par with peak humans.

  • Enhanced Intelligence: Captain Gorilla’s intelligence was increased by far when he underwent that experiment. He’s no super genius, but he is smarter than most humans.

Weaknesses:

  • Doesn’t understand human laws, customs, or culture. He’s lucky he learned to understand human language.

  • Cannot speak any human languages.

  • Has no formal training, although he has limited experience with gorilla warfare.

Equipment: He has a green spandex suit that goes up to the neck and two pairs of gloves, one for his hands, one for his feet. He learned quickly that if he went out in public nude people would get uncomfortable.

Feats:

  • Broke through the reinforced steel walls of the experiment laboratory.

  • Ran down and lifted a speeding delivery truck carrying a full load of bananas.

  • Regularly gets around by leaping from building to building.

  • Saved a woman from a mugger by jumping in front of a bullet and took the hit without significant injury.

So yeah, if anyone has some villain 'dictator' or 'mad scientist' type OCs on the sub and wants them in the origin story that'd be cool. I'd rather not make up a country, dictator, and scientist and it feels weird to just refer to them as 'the dictator' or 'the scientist'.

Also if you just have critique of the character in general then by all means say so. Personally I feel he's alright but I realize that I might be pushing the boundaries of street tier.
