Pledges feel like a major downgrade from 1e to 2e. What's the point of making deals with people?

Post Body

Bargains in particular don't feel like they have any real reason to exist, nor do they feel like magic. They come across like basic negotiation you could do without them.

1e pledges are a lot like Demon pacts, and I hate that they changed it. You can't give people fame and fortune or anything like that. Why would you want to risk meeting someone without your mask just to negotiate a favor?

What's the point?
